Joelle tells of her son’s classmate who was murdered on the UT campus in 2016 and how that led her to become an advocate for change, learning about homelessness, public safety, and community resources.  Joelle emphasizes the importance of being upstanders and contributing time, talent, and treasure to make a difference in the community.
 
 

Jennifer Fleck, newly elected Chairman of the Travis County Republican Party, joins Barb and Lorie this week as they talk about the difference between Kingdom government and politics. We first met Jennifer at an AISD school board meeting, and since then, she’s continued fighting for Texas children as the leader of We The People Lake Travis. Tune in as we discuss what’s happening in Travis County, her bold advocacy for Texas children, and her experience standing up for what she knows is right.

Lorie and Barb host Jennifer Fleck, newly elected Travis County GOP chair, as she shares about the need for Republican candidates in local elections and the importance of voter engagement. They also discussed the challenges of election integrity and the impact of political decisions on education and family values, urging community involvement and prayer to address these issues.

Barb & Lorie continue to discuss the importance of praying over Austin and declaring Truth.  They share their experiences of seeing mountains move and things shift through prayer, even after many years of praying. Finally, they stress the importance of gathering in groups of two or three to establish Ecclesias and exercise authority in prayer.

Barb and Lorie discuss the importance of declarative prayers and the authority believers have to speak God's word over their city. They recount a recent prayer gathering at the Capitol, advocating for biblical principles in government, and reminding us that our voices in worship and prayer are effective in changing the atmosphere.  Prayer and worship is going on every Tuesday evening at the Capitol. 

Lorie continues the discussion with Isaac De La Cerda telling his incredible story of faith and freedom through Jesus! In this episode, we take a deeper look at the transformative power of repentance and obedience that led him out of homelessness and into God’s purpose for his life.

Lorie, along with Theresa Bohls of Hope on the Way, hosts Isaac DeLa Cerda as he shares his traumatic upbringing in San Antonio, marked by drug addiction and family dysfunction, leading to foster care at 14. Isaac recounts his struggles with addiction, including overdoses and homelessness, and his eventual spiritual awakening through reading the Bible. Isaac emphasizes the importance of repentance and the power of the Holy Spirit in overcoming addiction. The conversation concludes with a prayer for healing and hope. Lorie and Barb host William McManis, Founder of WSM Wellness.  William's turning point came when he met Barb at Church Under the Bridge. There, he found his tribe – and soon after, he found Christ. He has a big heart for the homeless. Once homeless himself, he experienced the kindness of strangers who fed and cared for him. Now, he's made it his mission to give back with the same compassion. He cooks from the back of his car and takes food out into homeless camps. Be sure to tune in to hear William's touching testimony. 

This week Barb and Lorie made beautiful declarations over our Texas government. They also gave some simple tips to help you find out who your local council members are.  Finally they discussed the simplicity of hearing God - which begins with surrendering to Him. When you truly give Him your heart, your whole life becomes miraculous.
